"Alfalfa" (alfalfa-romeo)

Ran a few errands, took a few pictures, broke some things, fixed some things.
Tiny mechanic approves the new purchase.
Filled up the 28 gallon tank, made a Yoohoo run and watched part of a demolition. Ran some seafoam, inspected more PCV hoses, changed fluids, and the rear window came off it’s track.
I may need to get a step for the little one.
Also, the 351 sounds glorious. I’ll take an exhaust video soon, I promise.

It does indeed! But it weighs over 100 lbs. I’m going to recruit my wife to help me remove it this weekend.

I hope your wreckless posting doesn’t start a trend of people posting often vehicles they enjoy. My gosh that would be so annoying.

Are you going to get a soft top for it?

I’d like to eventually. With winter around the corner I wouldn’t get much use out of it, I’ll likely get one in spring.

The patina of that paint is perfect. Also, is Seafoaming not the most gratifying thing to do on an old car? It's like blowing your nose or scratching your ass. So gratifying.

I’m having some serious high school flashbacks to my 90 F150. The foot stomp high beams are the best feature. Also the coffee cans in the engine bay. But that may have only been with the 302.

My first car was an ‘87 Flareside 4x4 300/4 speed. I managed to squeeze 11 whole mpg out of it once (8-9 usually), so naturally the gas mileage made me sell it. I bought it wrecked, did all the body work and had it repainted, so at least it was pretty. I still miss it.

1) Broncos are fantastic machines. Well done!
2) Those old metal seatbelt buckles make one of the most satisfying sounds on Earth, and for that I am forever jealous of you
3) I use a couple ratchet straps to hang my jeep hard top in my garage. It takes me around 1/2 hour to pull the doors, back in and get it lined up, then hoist the top off (which weighs about 100 or so lbs). You may be able to make a similar contraption? I’ve seen jeep guys without a garage do essentially the same thing using an old swing set or 2x4 A-frame and straps. Some places will sell a dedicate hoist for this, but they’ll charge a couple Benjamins and I’m poor-ish. Either way, it’s nice to have in case you need want to pull the top when the misses isn’t around to keep you from hurting yourself!

Thanks! I’m planning to use that setup in my carport, but there’s a Volvo sitting on it right now.

I wish I had the high beam foot stomp. I think the “coffee can” was in all gas Ford truck engines.

That’s reasonable. Are you going to DD this or the Volvo?

My plan right now is to DD this for the winter while I get caught up on work with the Volvo. Then I’ll alternate a bit in the spring before selling the Volco and getting a motorcycle to help even out the fuel consumption of the Bronco.
